DATAG 2024 Summer Conference

Do you wonder how the English Language Learners (ELLs)/Multi Language Learners (MLLs) in your school district fare academically when compared to other ELLs/MLLs across the state and the county?  What is the percentage of ELLs in each school district across your  county? What are their levels of English language proficiency? Are the majority considered to be newcomers or are they at the entering, transitioning, expanding, or commanding levels of English language acquisition?  What types of educational programs (ENL, bilingual, or dual language) are being offered to ELLs/MLLs? Making these data readily available is an important first step in addressing equity in education when it comes to our growing ELL/MLL population.

 Knowledge is power.  Join us to learn about the “one-stop” option and the NYSESLAT/NYSITELL Quick Reference Guides offered through the Nassau BOCES Instructional Data Warehouse (IDW).  These tools serve as an “HOV lane” to give educators easy access to myriad reports that focus on the linguistic and academic performance of ELLs/MLLs.  These will  spark deep conversations about equity and action plans.
